It’s the middle of February. The sun is shining. The fresh snow is sparking and it’s all being enjoyed with a fresh cup of coffee. I just love my morning ritual of a great, hot cup of coffee enjoyed in my coffee nook to start the day. Over the years, my homage to the coffee started by allowing a single space on my counter for Keurig, to creating a wonderful coffee nook. I’m excited to share with you the steps on How to Create the Perfect Coffee Nook.
After a dedicated space on the counter was not enough, a larger space was needed. Here is a photo of the coffee station I had in my kitchen for quite a while. It was created by items gathered from around the house. You can read about it here, No Cost Decorating-Coffee Station. It was a convenient location in my kitchen but I always felt there should be more. I mean, coffee houses create such warm and cozy spaces to sit and relax. Why couldn’t I recreate that in my space?
Since then, my space has grown from a “coffee station” to a “coffee nook.” You ask, ” What is the difference?”. Well, let’s start with the definition of Nook: a secluded or sheltered place or part, a small often recessed section of a larger room
Attach the word “coffee” to that and there you have it. It’s a place to experience one’s coffee. Ahhh… Just wonderful.
Steps to a Perfect Coffee Nook
1 Choose some sort of table or cabinet
2. Add your coffee maker first. After all, this is the most important piece!
3. Gather your needed supplies for a great cup of coffee: My favorite: coffee, tea, sugar enamel tins, mug drying rack
4. Most importantly: locate that special area to enjoy your cup ” The Nook- the coffee house cozy place”
5. Spend some time enjoying the quiet. Do some reflection, give thanks, and start or end your day in quiet. Choose a time for yourself. It’s ok. We deserve it! There are Health Benefits of Quiet Time.
Enjoy your day, my friends. It can all start with a great cup of Joe!

February 18, 2017 at 1:44 pmI definitely like your coffee nook more than the station. It is the perfect spot to sit and unwind and enjoy the best drink, picker-upper in the world. But who am I to talk I don’t have either. You know maybe next time I go to New York I should set one up after all I drink coffee all day.

February 17, 2017 at 9:51 amI love this idea! I just created a little coffee station on my counter using a tray to corral my grinder, electric pot, and French press. I keep the coffee beans and packets of stevia there, too. It makes me feel elegant just to have that little area dedicated to the luxury of enjoying a good cup of coffee! Your coffee “nook” idea is wonderful.
