As I was going through my stash of projects, I realized I never followed up with the remainder of the rocking horse conclusion. If you recall, I was undecided what to do with the base of the horse. At first I thought I would just leave it the stained wood color. However, now that it sat for a while and I was able to really process it, I decided to go ahead and paint it. I don’t know why I had to give it much thought. A big reason why I attempted this was to take a risk , try something new with paint ….. Experiment! I have to remember, I’m doing these projects because I enjoy it. Enjoy the process and don’t get caught up in the end result. It’s fun and sometimes I surprise myself! Funny how that happens.
Here is the finished product.
I chose to dry brush the base with some leftover eggshell colored paint I had. For me, the less options I have, the easier and more quickly I can make make a decision and move forward. On the runners, I thought I would experiment with 2 colors of CeCe Caldwell Blue Montana Sky and Destin Gulf Stream, letting it dry between coats. After looking at it the next day, I decided to give it a light sanding on the edges to give it a vintaged look. Project complete.
Oh no! I just realized …. new decision. What will be my next project????
