How was your weekend? Mine was surprisingly spot on! I started the weekend by carving out a brief time to go treasure hunting. You see, here in Wisconsin, it is a seasonal event and now that the weather started cooperating, the garage sales have sprung. Its spring time!
If you recall in a pervious post, I explained how I began thrift store and garage sale shopping. It was a Friday morning ritual with my kids. Now that time is minimal. This past Friday I did carve out a brief period of time to hit some sales.
Boy oh boy did I make a score. So much good home decor and project pieces were found. I was just giddy 🙂 But wait there is more!
Friday night I drove to my mother’s to spend the night. To my delight, my sister informed me there was a large church sale happening that weekend. Yay, for church sales! One of my tips for decorating on a budget is to attend church sales. They always have such an eclectic choice of items and at such fabulous prices. Even though it was the second day of the sale, I walked out with quite a load…… picture frames, shutters, wicker baskets, antique hooks, garden statue, unframed botanical prints, and a lamp. I was quite pleased with myself. When I was returning home , I stopped at a consignment store and score some vintage windows- with and without glass and even one with a screen. I have a few ideas how I can repurpose them into home accents.
Well, I think I am set for a while. The hardest part for me will be taking time off from the hunt in order to get these potential projects completed. Wish me luck!
