The last few weeks have been quiet around here, project wise. That is because it is the start of garage sale season in Wisconsin. I love to go to garage sales, yard sales, rummage sales or whatever else you may call it. You can read about the history of my treasure hunting here. It short, it has evolved mainly from shopping kids toys and clothes to home decor. My house is decorated with thrifty finds.
This is the second big shopping excursion I have done. The first one looked like this.

First major garage sale outing
You can read more about it here. In that post, I said I was going to take some time off from thrift shopping in order to work on and transform the new finds. Well, I was very motivated to get my things set up in the garage. During the nice weather, the garage becomes my workshop. I set up a painting table, bring out my supplies and set my potential projects up. (I’m a very much a visual person) I was ready to go.

Work Space in the Garage
And then it happened!! The weather changed! It became freezing out again. I can’t paint in my garage when it’s so chilly. Believe me I tried. I was so discouraged. I attempted to paint but the drying time between coats took forever. So I threw in the towel and pouted.
During the week, I worked around my home… changing out my home decor in hopes to hurry in spring. It was productive, but I wanted to get working on my projects instead. The hubby was also growing tired with the projects “living ” among us. So to drown my sorrows, this past weekend I went treasure hunting. Oh joy! Here are my finds.

Garage Sale Treasures
So that’s it, folks, no more shopping for me . I have some wonderful items to work on and the weather is warming up. I’ll be able to get out there and get working on some amazing home decor pretty soon. I can’t wait! Have you been out on the hunt? What have you found?
Oh, my goodness, those WINDOWS! Love them! I keep searching for old windows around here, but the only places I have found that have wanted $30-50 each. Given I’m just starting my DIY endeavors, that seems like too much $$ to spend for something I am likely to mess up! 🙂 A good friend, however, just gave me 3 of hers and I am so excited to do something with them — though I don’t know what, yet! I’ve been on Pinterest pinning away; even created my own “window” board! I can’t wait to see what you do with those!
Thanks Wendy. I havnt got to the windows yet. Not sure of the plan yet
I’ve had to turn My porch into a workshop/paint booth. We had nothing but rain! Awesome haul!! visiting from Talented Tuesday’s.Smiles.Cindy
It’s been a lot here too. Drying time is so difficult
