Do you recall this find posted way the heck back?
Well it lived in my garage all winter long. I had great plans of painting it to some degree but never had the motivation. It kind of felt like homework. Something that needs to be done but just not motivated to get started. So it sat on my side of the garage Every time I would pull in or leave there it would be sitting, reminding me daily that I should tackle that project. I guess part of the problem is that I did not know what I was going to do with it.
Earlier this spring, I listed my computer cabinet on Craig’s list. It took just a couple of days for it to be sold and leave a large gaping hole in my dining area. This blank space sat for quite a while, while I scoured for a new piece to put in its place. I was thinking I would like to put a hutch in that spot. Sometimes I’m not exactly sure what I want until I see it. So on searches for treasures, I would keep my eyes peeled for that perfect piece. No such luck!
Hey wait!! There’s that piece in the garage. You see, I became so use to it being there, that I became blind to to its potential. After, recruiting the muscle of my teen boys, the hutch made its way into the house.
This is how it looks now:
It needed major cleaning after living in the garage for so long. Also, I remove the door because the glass needs to be replaced.
All in all it’s serving the purpose. Do I love it? Um … no. I’ll still be on the hunt. That is something I definitely love.
