Let me tell you a story about this little black desk.

A few summers ago when I was out and about on a Friday Find, I came across this desk at a garage sale. I fell in love with it immediately but did not take it home.  Why?  I’m not sure.  Days passed and I was still thinking about it.  I was picturing it in a perfect spot in my home. I could have just kicked myself for passing it by. However, the story changes….

I was browsing craigslist and there it was!!! The adorable painted black desk that got away!  I immediately replied to the posting, but to my dismay, it was spoken for. Struck out again!  (I even offered to pay more and come get it immediately, but the seller was true to her word and sold to to the first customer.)   Ok, I guess it was not meant to be,  oh well. But wait! It gets better.

The next day, that same person emails me to say that the women that came to get the desk, contacted her to say it did not work out in her home. She was inquiring  if there was anyone else that may be interested.  Long story short… I got the name of the women, went and picked up  the desk ( for the same price) and it found its true home in my living room. Yeah for me!

Well, yesterday, I posted it again on craigslist and it was snatched up immediately. You are probably thinking , what am I doing that for, after all the drama?  That’s what I like to do. I like to find thrifty items. Enjoy them for a while until my preferences change. Sometimes they are perfect right off the bat-like the little black desk or sometimes they need a little tweaking.  I love it all!
