Early in November, I shared about some wonderful white ironstone I obtained at a church sale. After that fortune find, I thought that would be the end for a while of scoring some great thrifty vintage finds. Well, guess what. Some wonderful vintage items crossed my path and of course made their way home with me.
The main thrift shopping occurred when I was visiting my mother, recently. I have my favorite places I like to frequent when going back home. This particular visit resulted in some great vintage finds
I was excited to find a pair of chippy, aged green shutters . Besides needing a good scrubbing, they are perfect just the way they are and are a match for my decor. Yay!! At the same place, there was a pile of barn boards still having that great red stain. Not knowing exactly what I would do with them, I ended up just purchasing one. I still don’t know, but that’s alright. It was a great find
Then finally wrapping up two more stops, I scored big time. Yes, more white ironstone. Can a girl have too much? These thrifty vintage finds included a chamber pot and a larger basin which I assumed had a vessel resting in it. The most interesting piece I found was a spoon rest, a piece I have never seen before. I snatched it up knowing it would be a piece a would use daily. Then to top it all off, I found a sweet odd shaped dish I’m going to use on my dresser for my rings. Ahhh, my day was complete.
It seems the best thrifty vintage finds happen when I am not in search for them. Lesson learned?… Keep your eyes open to receive the great surprises that await. Now take that thought and go thrifting!!
