I’ve Moved!!
Come on in and I’ll show you how I chose to decorate my new home with all Thrifty Finds. Yes, decorating a whole house can be done without breaking the bank. My thrifty finds didn’t happen over night. It has been a collection over the years. If you know me or are familiar with my blog, you realize items come and go. I love to hunt and find pieces. Some stay with me for years and some pieces just come for a visit. Read on and see my Thrifty Decorated New Home.

But first, let’s start with the porch. I snapped this photo as the the sun was starting to set so lighting wasn’t the greatest, however, you can get a glimpse of the how the porch is staged. If you take a look , the bistro table was picked up at a garage sale years ago and has stuck around. The lantern is a new piece this summr and I may just move it indoors this winter or it may go. I havn’t committed yet. Oh, and let’s not forget that cute little pooch, Leo, wondering what the heck I’m doing standing in the middle of the street. He too was a find. That find will definately be a keeper!!
Lets’ Step Inside
- Brand New Purchase Items
Before I had all my things moved to this house, I went out and bought a few brand new items. “GASP”, I know. But I wanted to show you that it was very sparingly how I chose to use new items in my new house. Even though I enjoy looking online and through catalogs, I know I can recreate a look I see for just a fraction of the cost by being at Thrifty buyer. What does that mean? That means I mostly shop online resale sights, garage sales, estate sales, thrift stores, church sales, friends houses and even the curb. It takes patience, time to look and browse, and the ability to see something beyond its original existence if need be. Decorating with thrifty finds will not happen overnight but I guess I love seeinghow it evolves from a bare, to a fantastic thrifty decorated home. Learn some of my secrets to Thrifty decorating here.
So are you ready to see the end result?

Thrifty Decor
Yes, it’s all thrifty finds expect for what I pointed out from above. The rug ended up not working and I returned it and went with what I already had. Tables, sofa and love seat, lamps, cabinet and all decor are craigslist, thrift store, or online resale finds. Some are new finds and some are finds that have been around with me for a while. However, it’s funny how the items look so different in a new space. It makes them look new all over again!
It’s been so much fun and rewarding creating this space of mine. Please stop back soon. I’ll have my dining room to reveal as well.
I love your living room decor! It looks great! Leo absolutely stole my heart though. What a cutie pie! I’d like to feature your post today at Tuesdays with a Twist! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
Marci, you are so sweet. Leo is a sweetie. Thank you for considering my post as a feature. What a surprise!! Thank you
I love the idea of not paying full price when you can find so many great things at thrift stores, Craigs list and the like. And I agree, using items from one place in the home, seems like they are all brand new in another room! Great Job!
Thank you for sharing on #Friday Features this week!
